SIBERIAN LARCH

Grown in Europe (Alps), the UK and Western Russia, this timber is one of the toughest and most durable softwoods available. It features a pale red-brown to brick red colour, straight grain and fine texture.

The Tree – Seen as a medium sized deciduous, coniferous tree ranging in size from 20m to 40m tall with a diameter of around 1m. In most situations a long, clean cylindrical bole for two-thirds of its length can be achieved.

The Timber – With clearly marked annual rings the Larch is a very resinous wood, featuring a straight grain and fine texture. The timber is heavy for a softwood weighing around 590 kg/m3 when dried.

Best Working Qualities –  The Siberian Larch softwood can be used for a variety of projects including internal & external Cladding, Joinery, Flooring, Decking & Construction work.
